๐Ÿค– YouTube's Ask AI expands to video searches!

As you may know, Ask Studio is one of YouTube's latest AI that lets you ask about your channel's analytics. But it seems YouTube is bringing their Ask AI over to viewers via Ask YouTube.

The idea of this is to make a new way of searching that feels more like a conversation. If you have a Premium membership, you can try out this new feature today! This experiment lasts until June 8th.

How this feature works is that you enter a prompt into Ask YouTube, like "plan a 3-day road trip between San Fransico and Santa Barbara" and Ask YouTube will proceed to peruse through YouTube for what you're looking for. You can also do follow-up questions or select suggested prompts to explore more in detail.

Note: This test is currently only for Premium users 18+ in the US searching in English.

๐Ÿงช You might notice thumbnails and video sizes are "more immersive" on Android and iOS devices.

It's another YouTube experiment for mobile users.

To help content stand out on mobile screens, YouTube is running a test that would automatically adjust video and thumbnail sizes for your device.

If you're a part of this experiment, you might notice the thumbnails or video sizes are more varied. We presume that if you have a bigger screen (like a foldable), you'll see bigger thumbnails.

Your thumbnails may appear cropped to viewers during this, but YouTube says that it's not editing to altering the original files.

๐Ÿšซ Starting May 18th, YouTube will hide channel descriptions that don't follow their Community Guidelines.

YouTube's Community Guidelines apply to all types of content, including the channel descriptions.

So make sure to check whether your channel description is aligned with YouTube's Community Guidelines or not!

YouTube enforcement update for 2026.

For example, if you're a minor sharing personal contact information, YouTube will hide this. You can edit your channel description at any time to fix this.

๐Ÿงช YouTube tests a new feed navigation experience on mobile

YouTube is testing a different way to navigate your feed on the mobile app. The goal being it should be easier to find the content you care about.

If you're a part of this experiment, you'll notice some changes to your Home and Subscription feed. YouTube is moving the Subscription feed from the bottom navigation bar to the top of your screen as a new swipeable Subscriptions and Home feed tab experience.

They may also move other tabs like Movies & TVs to the top bar so you can access your paid content in one place. In this new layout, the Explore menu will become visible by pulling the screen to refresh to scrolling up.

It's currently rolling out to a small percentage of viewers on iOS and Android globally. IF you're a part of this, let us know what you think and remember to give YouTube feedback!
